Artificial floral arrangements for fall
Fall is a wonderful time of year when the temperatures begin to drop and you can start to feel a crispness in the air. While the summer heat likes to linger in Oklahoma, we always know fall is coming as the calendar turns to September. Fans of summer like to hang on to those final warm days, while those who love fall start longing for sweaters and colorful fall leaves.
Depending on when you start celebrating fall, you could embrace the season for a full three months. That makes fall the perfect opportunity for some artificial floral arrangements to embrace the beauty of the season.
From dried branches and nuts/seeds to realistic-looking faux leaves and flowers, the possibilities are endless!
Leaves and flowers
Most leaves and flowers for fall floral arrangements are artificial, as dried leaves are often too brittle and dried flowers lose the vibrant colors that signify fall. But there are so many artificial flowers and leaves to choose from that you don’t really need dried versions of the real thing. Yellow sunflowers add a nice pop of color among orange, red, and brown leaves. Deep crimson or rust-colored mums add to the depth of color in wreaths or potted arrangements.
Dried branches
Many wreath forms are shaped and dried branches or vines, which make a great base for a fall floral wreath. You can also use dried branches to add height and interest to potted arrangements and help bring a little of the outside in. We’ve even seen people use dried branches (which can be purchased at Lilygrass) as a centerpiece where each guest writes what they’re thankful for on a cut out construction paper leaf at Thanksgiving and hangs it on a branch.
Nuts and seeds
Acorns are an iconic element of fall decor, but there are many nut and seed options to add interest to artificial fall floral arrangements. Acorns often appear as accents on artificial fall leaf stems, but you can use the real thing as well. Fill a glass vase with acorns or a mixture of nuts in their shell or use corn kernels or other seeds to hold your stems in place. Pine cones are another great texture element to use.
