Time to celebrate summer!

The official first day of summer is still a few days away, but many people have been in summer mode for weeks. And rightfully so! While summer in Oklahoma brings the heat, it also brings lots of opportunities for fun and laughter for both kids and adults.

Here are a few ways to celebrate all that summer has to offer.

Stop and smell the flowers

Summer means flowers are everywhere! Take a walk around your neighborhood and admire the simple beauty of home gardens or head out to the Myriad Botanical Gardens or Oklahoma City Zoo to see a wide range of blooming beauties. If you would prefer to stop and smell the flowers indoors, give us a call or drop by the shop to pick your favorites for a bouquet.

Bring some sunshine inside

Open up those windows and let the light in! Morning light coming through the windows is a great way to brighten up your home or office, but beware of west-facing windows in the late afternoon, as the sunlight can raise the temperature in your home and increase your energy costs.

Have a blast with water

Whether it’s running through the sprinkler in the back yard, having a good old-fashioned water balloon fight, or going for a swim, there are plenty of ways to celebrate summer with water. Throw on a swimsuit and get out there and have some fun with water!

Taste the bounty of summer

Summer means farmers’ markets are overflowing with fresh produce, including juicy watermelon, ripe peaches, and plenty of vibrant vegetables. Head out early on a Saturday morning to shop local at one of the many area farmers’ markets.
