September Make-and-Take
Happy fall, ya’ll! Lilygrass has had a blast celebrating this cooler weather and designing gorgeous arrangements with the seasonal blooms. It is definitely a fun time of the year!
For this blog, we’re going to take a second to rewind a little bit and tell you about our September Make-and-Take class that happened almost a month ago. We’ve just been too busy with all of our weddings and fall festivities to blog about it until now! Plus, it’s a great way to get you pumped for October’s Make-and-Take Class that happens on Thursday, October 27th. We’d love to have you join us!
Back to September. We created adorable pumpkin fresh flower arrangements! The event was transformed into a pumpkin-themed wonderland, complete with a cheese ball shaped like the gourd of honor and even a pumpkin pie dip eaten with white-chocolate-covered graham crackers! Yum! There were rice krispie treats shaped like tiny pumpkins, and we also offered green grapes dipped in caramel and sprinkled with peanuts! For the libations, our Designer Guests enjoyed "Dark Horse red and white wine" as well as "For Tea’s Sake fresh and lively Citrus flavor". It was deeeeeelish!

After we enjoyed some snacks and light conversation, the eight new friends got down to business! Lilygrass provided all necessary supplies, including the pumpkins and the containers for the flowers, which were a common household item that might surprise you – soup cans! Genius! What a thrifty idea! The cans could be centered directly into the middle of the pumpkins or slightly off-kilter (but not too much, so the flowers don’t fall out!). After everyone chose their pumpkins and inserted the cans, they then choose their favorite fall stems. We didn’t have to coach anyone at all on their color scheme or design elements. They all had great eyes for design! Pumpkins were full of daisies, eucalyptus, cattails, branches, sunflowers, mums, and so much more – the fall greats! We were all very pleased with the night’s creations.
Overall, the entire evening lasted about 1 1/2 hours, and it was a blast! We even hosted a mother-daughter combo! These evenings are meant to encourage community, learning, and fun. Try something new! Bring a new friend or a long-time buddy! Grab the husband and let us teach him a thing or two!
