Honoring our fallen heroes this Memorial Day

Each year on the last Monday in May, Americans come together to celebrate Memorial Day. This day commemorates all who have fallen while serving in the United States military. It’s a time for remembering and honoring, and for many, grieving the loss of their loved ones.

Though it’s a somber day, it’s important to take time to celebrate the lives and sacrifices of these incredible people that gave everything they had to preserve our freedom. With that in mind, here are some of the ways we here at Lilygrass Flowers and Decor like to honor these American heroes.

Wreaths

Wreaths are one of the most popular ways to commemorate the day. Red, white, and blue are the traditional colors, of course, but other colors can be used as well. If your wreath is in honor of someone specific, consider personalizing it with their favorite colors, a plush animal, or even photos, letters, or mementos. The wreaths can be placed on a headstone or in a special place as a remembrance of someone or simply as a sign of respect for the day.
