There are many online florists that deliver the selected flowers in a box, which means the recipient will have to arrange them themselves. Arranging flowers is a skill like any other. It takes an eye for design and the ability to cut stems to the proper heights without over/undercutting, trimming stems in the right way for maximum bloom life, and arranging them in proper proportion to their container. This is something the recipient may not enjoy or even be able to do.

Local florists can customize your order to what you are envisioning, so long as they can source the flowers from the wholesaler. They also work with you to find the best blooms for the occasion and are happy to make suggestions that fit within your budget. If you’re ordering online, your options are limited to their pre-designed arrangements and will not be customizable at all. Flowers are seasonal so, when ordering online, you will find several of the flowers displayed for sale are out of season.
