Week in the life of a florist

This past week into the beginning of this week, I had a fantastic time catching up with a dear florist friend of mine that moved from Oklahoma City to Raleigh, North Carolina in June.  She came back this past week for her last event as an Oklahoma City florist. (Tear) We have known each other for around 7 years and I look up to her for her many talents in the floral industry. She owns a wedding/ event independent business out of her home, Rebecca’s silver rose and I have had the pleasure in helping throughout the years on large events, weddings and some crises moments :)  LOL

Her last event in Oklahoma City was a weeklong ceremony for a college in the area.  Each day was a different theme and the flowers corresponded.  The amount of arrangements grew with each day.  My staff and I helped her process the hundreds of flowers (swollen fingers), cleaned the containers, and helped design the arrangements.  The color details that Rebecca used were incredible.  She has a real talent for detail and design.  Every petal is perfect when placed in the arrangement.

We would deliver the NIGHT (yes, night!  I’m not a late night person…) before each day event and would help set up the arrangements on location.

We had fun playing with cymbidium orchids, dahlias, sedum, garden roses, and freesia just to name a few.  She showed us many secrets that will help us in the future. Each day’s event had its own vases that were used in the color schemes of reds and blacks, rustic, shades of pink and many more.

The last arrangements were taken care of this morning.  It was an amazing event to be a part of but I am exhausted!

If you are planning an event, flowers make all the difference in the room.  Contact us with your theme for the party and we can help make the arrangements correspond perfectly.
