Happy Birthday, America!

Taking time to celebrate our Founding Fathers and the birth of our country is incredibly important. Independence Day is a summertime holiday memorializing the Declaration of Independence of the United States on July 4, 1776. On that day, the Continental Congress came together to decree that the thirteen colonies existing in America, at that time, were no longer under the dominion of the British monarchy.

Today we celebrate our country’s birthday with fireworks, games, pool parties, parades, outdoor barbecues, family time, and, of course, flowers! Patriotic flowers in red, white, and blue add a festive look to every celebration.

There are many options for red flowers to include in your bouquet. Roses, carnations, chrysanthemums, or gerbera daisies will make any arrangement stand out with a pop of vibrant red.

For the white in your patriotic bouquet, try white roses, spider mums, calla lilies, or lisianthus.

There aren’t too many flowers that grow in natural blue hues, but there are a few very pretty options to choose from. If you want to add a pop of blue to your patriotic bouquet this year, throw in some blue iris, delphiniums, or hydrangeas. Flowers can also be dyed in specific colors using absorption, spray, or dip methods to get a vibrant blue hue.
